FULBRIGHT RECOGNITION SCHOLARS AND SPECIALISTS Sponsored by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright program is a highly competitive, merit-based program that fosters international intellectual exchange. The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program sends American faculty members abroad to lecture and/or conduct research for up to a year and the Fulbright Specialist Program sends U.S. faculty to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, and institutional planning at overseas academic institutions for a period of two to six weeks.
