RETIRED FACULTY AND STAFF 33 years Cindy Dean Music Administrative Assistant III Cindy Dean grew up in San Marcos. Upon graduation from San Marcos High School, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy, served for four years at Naval Air Station Chase Field, and is now a proud veteran. Upon completion of her military service, she began work at Texas State (then Southwest Texas State) in 1980, serving as secretary to the University Attorney for 12 years. After a one-year absence to care for her nephew, she began working for the Texas State School of Music in 1993. Trough the years, Cindy performed many roles and eventually become the top administrative assistant and executive assistant to the School of Music Director. She is and will continue to be beloved by the School of Music for her hard work and dedicated 33 years of service. 45 years Sheila Hargett Theatre & Dance Professor Sheila Hargett was Head of the Costume Design and Technology Program for 45 years, and her designs appeared in over 90 departmental productions, including Oklahoma , The Cherry Orchard , As You Like It , Caucasian Chalk Circle , Macbeth , Into the Woods , Anything Goes , Hair , A Doll’s House , Bat Boy , A Streetcar Named Desire , and Evita . She designed regionally for the Dallas Shakespeare Festival, Southern Methodist University, Eastfeld College, Texas Playwrights Teatre Company, Live Oak Teatre, and Zilker Teatrical Productions. Sheila’s outstanding work was recognized with fve American College Teatre Awards and publication in Teatre Design and Technology and Rebecca Cunningham’s book, Te Magic Garment . 33 years Stephen Hager Music Professor Stephen Hager joined the Texas State music faculty in 1983, teaching French horn and performing with faculty group Southwest Brass Works. He is a member of the Mid- Texas Symphony Orchestra and has been principal horn for the Austin Symphony Orchestra, a member of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and a member of the United States Army Band, “Pershing’s Own.” He also concertized throughout North America, Europe and Russia. Hager holds a Master of Music degree from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from West Virginia University. 19 years Eloiese Krabbenhoft Art & Design Senior Lecturer From the time she began as a senior lecturer at Texas State in 1997, Eloiese Krabbenhoft helped prepare over 200 art educators for K-12 classrooms. Eventually she taught three of the fve required art theory courses and often supervised a section of student teachers at the elementary and secondary levels. She helped write two grants for computers and printers for the art education computer lab and attended all tech workshops at the annual Texas Art Education Association conferences to stay current with technology in public schools.
