Award Amount: $16,000. Dr. Maureen Keeley and Kristin Farris (Communication Studies): REP Project, Family Caregivers of Dementia Patients and Communication. Award Amount: $15,600. Dr. Kyle Glaser (Music): REP Project, Robert Russell Bennett, Richard Rodgers, and the Tele-documentary - a Study in Sound. Award Amount: $8,000. Dr. Russell Haight (Music): REP Project, Odd-Meter Etudes for Jazz Saxophone. Award Amount: $8,000. Dr. Rebekah Fox (Communication Studies) and Aimee Roundtree (English): REP Project, Bridging the Classroom and the Clinic: Assessing Clinical Nursing Assisting (CAN) Training and Integrating Experiential Learning. Award Amount: $16,000. Dr. Tricia Burke (Communication Studies): MIRG Project, Increasing Treatment Adherence and Self-Management in Metabolic Syndrome Patients. Dr. Burke is the frst Principal Investigator from CoFAC to be awarded one of the most highly competitive internal research grants at the university, the Multi-disciplinary Internal Research Grant (MIRG). Award Amount: $25,000. Future Research C 3 remains committed to supporting faculty in achieving their creative and scholarly goals. C 3 is devoted to helping faculty succeed by exploring traditional and alternative funding methods to meet their unique needs. Here is a glimpse at some of the fascinating future research and creative projects C3 is supporting: Dr. Cynthia I. Gonzales (School of Music): her team of researchers plan to work with local elementary schools to test the integration of the arts into everyday academic curriculum. Kaitlin Hopkins (Department of Teatre & Dance): is working with fellow collaborators to design and test curriculum focused on mental health and lifeskill education for college students. Vlasta Silhavy and Ana Baer (Department of Teatre & Dance): Teatre, Dance, and Education faculty are ofering a 2017 summer camp to at-risk middle and high school girls focused on teaching leadership, empowerment, arts and technology skills.
