’ EXCEPTIONAL FACULTY Te Presidential Seminar Award annually recognizes one person for Scholarly/Creative excellence; the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation honors faculty members in Texas for outstanding teaching at the collegiate level; the Regents’ Teacher Award is a new designation from the Texas State University System, with Dr. Nolan being a member of the inaugural class. He served as Chair of the Department of Communication Studies for 28 years and Associate Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication for 25 years. Dr. Beebe has been a Visiting Scholar at both Oxford University and Cambridge University. Dr. Beebe is author and co-author of 12 books (70 editions) that have been used at hundreds of colleges and universities throughout the world, including Russian and Chinese editions. He has authored or co- authored more than 50 published articles and book chapters, plus over 150 papers and presentations at professional conferences. He received Te Presidential Award for Excellence in Research and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Service at Texas State—the university’s highest research and service awards. Ana Baer Carrillo’s video- choreographer work encompasses a variety of dance for camera work, as well as performances and choreography. Ana’s video installations, multimedia work and/or choreography have been presented in Chile, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Guatemala, Greece, Spain, France, Egypt, and multiple venues in Germany, U.K., Mexico and U.S.A. Ana’s projects include: Co-Director of L.E.A.P; Artistic Co-Director, Adjudicator, Producer and International Liaison for the Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema; Choreographer and Videographer depicting themes, situations and realities in Mexico. Additionally, she commissions international and culturally diverse artists for Merge Dance Company, a student dance company, which she co-founded at Texas State University in 2009. Dr. David Nolan has taught at Texas State since 2003 and received a Ph.D. from Texas State in Education in 2012. Nolan’s photography has won numerous awards and has been featured in publications such as: Time , Newsweek , U.S. News and World Report , New York Times magazine, Life , New York Newsday , Air Force magazine, Los Angeles Times , Airman magazine, Torch magazine, countless books, websites and other media. In 2015, Nolan was awarded the National Press Photographers Association Robin F. Garland Educator Award and in the same year received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching at Texas State. In 2010, he received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Service at Texas State and in 2008, he was recognized as the Honors Professor of the Year. 8 | COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS AND COMMUNICATION
