FULBRIGHT SPOTLIGHT FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR PROGRAM: U.S. faculty members go abroad to lecture and/or conduct research for up to a year. FULBRIGHT SPECIALIST PROGRAM: U.S. faculty go abroad to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, and institutional planning at overseas academic institutions for a period of two to six weeks. While teaching at Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, I hope to collaborate with faculty and students in bringing a solutions journalism lens to news writing, and to create a lasting relationship between my host institution and Texas State University.” “I sought a Fulbright in India to share in the exchange of ideas in a country that always has fascinated me, but have never visited. I specifcally requested a placement with a women’s college because their mission to empower female students inspired me. While afliated with the Communication program at M.O.P. Vaishnav I hope to provide a bridge between my discipline and the students and faculty in India.” “It takes an American sensibility of fresh concept and practical usage to present topics such as Modern Jazz Improvisation, Contemporary Concepts of Composition, and Commercial Arranging to an international audience. Students in Chile did not know how to create websites with pictures, audio, videos, and links to promote themselves to the world stage.
