Clay Craig was named the 2018 Austin Advertising Federation’s Educator of the Year. Sherry Snowden was inducted as a 2018 Distinguished Fellow of the Texas Art Education Association; previously she received their 2013 Higher Education Educator of the Year Award. Jeremy Hutchins received the 2018 Texas Intercollegiate Forensics Association's Educator of the Year Award. Michael Devlin was the recipient of the 2018 Early Career Teaching Excellence Award from the Advertising Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Sean Justice was named the 2017 Higher Education Educator of the Year by the Texas Art Education Association. Steve Beebe received the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award, Training and Development Division, National Communication Association. Lynn Ledbetter received the 2016 Phyllis Young Outstanding Studio Teacher of the Year Award from the Texas Chapter of the American String Teachers Association. Ann Burnette received the 2016 John I. Sisco Excellence in Teaching Award from the Southern States Communication Association. Sarah Maines received a 2016 National Partners in American Teatre Mentor Award from the Kennedy Center American College Teatre Festival. 16 . COLLEGE REPORT 2020 Educator of the Year Award Marian L. Houser received the 2015 National Communication Association Teachers on Teaching Award. Kaysie Seitz Brown received the 2015 Texas Association of Health, Physical Recreation, and Dance Educator of the Year Award. David Nolan received the 2015 National Press Photographers Association’s Robin F. Garland Educator Award. Roseann Mandziuk received the 2014 Michael M. Osborn Teacher Scholar Award from the Southern States Communication Association. Wayne Kraemer (pictured) received the 2014 Texas Speech Communication Association Educator of the Year Award and the 2005 Texas Intercollegiate Forensics Association's Educator of the Year Award. Kaitlin Hopkins received a 2013 Top Women Educator in the Arts Award from the Broadway Dreams Foundation. Cindy Royal received the 2013 Charles E. Scripps Journalism and Mass Communication Teacher of the Year Award from the Scripps Howard Foundation; she also received a 2013 John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship. Wayne Kramer received the 2013 E. R. Nichols Award, a national forensics teaching award presented by Pi Kappa Delta; he was the 2006 recipient of the Don Brownlee Award presented by the Cross Examination Debate Association (CEDA). Teri Evans-Palmer received the 2011 Higher Education Educator of the Year Award from the Texas Art Education Association. JOHNNY MCALLISTER, 3 Film Awards for "Bull" In 2020 Craig Hella Johnson , as Artistic Director and Conductor of Conspirare, earned his ninth Grammy nomination; previously, they won for their album Te Sacred Spirit of Russia (2014). Johnny McAllister’s (pictured) flm Bull debuted at the 2019 Cannes Film festival and won three awards at the Deauville American Film Festival in France. Todd Oxford won a 2019 Global Music Award Silver Medal. Eugene Lee was inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters in 2019; he won the 2019 Helen Hayes Award for Best Lead Actor. Craig Hella Johnson and Conspirare received a 2019 Medal of Arts honor from the Texas Cultural Trust. John Lopez (pictured) won the 2019 William Aguilar Cultural Arts Award from the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education. Phillip Owens had his sound designs selected for the 2019 Prague Quadrennial International Design Exhibit . Shelby Hadden’s flm Tightly Wound won the Doc’Anims 2018 competition at Animatou in Switzerland. Soomin Remmler won Best of Show award in the Colored Pencil Society of America’s 26th International Annual Exhibition 2018 Chicago. Michael Devlin received the 2018 Emerging Scholar Award from the National Communication Association. William Aguilar Cultural Arts Award won the 2018 PROSE (Professional and and co-authors received the 2018 Best Published Article Award in the Children, Adolescents, and Media Division from the International Communication Association. Beverly Penn was chosen to represent the state of Texas in the exhibition Women to Watch 2018 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Lindsay Timmerman and co-authors received the Distinguished Article Award from the Family Communication Division of the National Communication Association in 2017. Vanessa Higgins Joyce was selected as a 2017 Kopenhaver Center Fellow. Beverly Penn was awarded a 2017 Louis Comfort Tifany Foundation Artist Award; she was selected by the Texas Commission on the Arts as the 2017 State of Texas 3D Artist of the Year. Michael Devlin was the second-place recipient of the 2017 Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Most Promising Professor Award. Maureen Keeley received the 2016 Distinguished Article of the Year from the Health Communication Division of the National Communication Association and the 2016 Outstanding Article of the Year from the Journal of Family Communication .
