Scott Vandenberg will be designing lights for Summer Stock Austin. Student Accolades Kelsey Buckley (acting BFA) will be performing at Dallas Shakespeare Festival this summer in the role of the maid in She Stoops to Conquer . MFA directing student Liz Fisher won the KCACTF National Directing Award and will intern at the O’Neill Playwrights’ Conference this summer; this is Theatre’s 10th national award for the Kenedy Center. She was also a featured panelist at the 2016 SXSW Interactive, speaking about “Tech and Theater: Audience Agency in Layered Reality.” In July, acting majors Danielle Grisko , Anthony Hinderman , and Nik Crawford will join the acting fellowship company for the MFA Playwrights’ Workshop at the Kennedy Center, held in association with the National New Play Network. George James (Acting BFA) will intern with the Great River Shakespeare Festival this summer, with a key role in Coriolanus . Acting major Michael Moody will be working at Children’s Theatre in Dallas this summer. Alumni Accolades Stephen Brower (Musical Theatre BFA 2015) has booked the national tour of An American in Paris . Acting alumnus Oscar Cabrera performed in Boundless Theatre Company’s production of Ocativo Solis’s play Boundless . Oscar’s play Through Andrew’s Eyes is currently in rehearsal at INTAR theatre company. Acting alumnus Roberta Colindrez continues her run as Joan in Fun Home on Broadway. The production won 5 Tony awards in 2015, including Best Musical. Sara Christian (MA 2016 – History-Criticism and Dramaturgy) was accepted into the Ph.D. program in Theatre History, Dramatic Literature, and Dramatic Theory and Criticism at Louisiana State University. Kurt Engh (BFA Acting 2016) will be company manager intern at Contemporary American Theatre Festival. Regan Goins (Acting BFA 2015) will be starring in Legally Blonde at Georgetown Palace Theatre. Acting alumnus Phillip Ray Guevara just finished a hit run of Julius Caesar at the TITAN theatre company in NY and begins the MFA professional actor training at the University of Washington in the fall. Tim Heller (BFA Musical Theatre 2014) has been offered the lead role (Prince Eric) in The Little Mermaid at the Red Mountain Theatre. Ava L’Amoreaux (Acting BFA 2015) completed a successful run of Tribes at ZACH Theatre in Austin. Sean McGibbon will be performing in Singing in the Rain at North Shore Theatre. Jimmy Moore (MFA Directing 2016) will star in the one-man comedy, Buyer and Cellar , playing at the ZACH Theatre in Austin from June 8 through August 14.
