Musical Teatre, 2018) joined the company of Mamma Mia! at Teatre Under the Stars. Tomas Miller (B.F.A. Musical Teatre, 2016) is playing Crush/Bubbles in Disney’s Finding Nemo: Te Musical at Animal Kingdom in Orlando. Jimmy Moore (M.F.A. Directing) received excellent reviews for his work as Miss Trunchbull in Zach Teatre’s Matilda, the Musical . [ 7 ] Lynn Beaver in BroadwayWorld Austin called him a “campy villain” who “skirts the edges of traditional British panto baddies and delivers a character we love to hate.” Nick Ortiz (B.F.A. Acting) made his regional theatre debut playing Juan Julian in a production of Anna in the Tropics in Colorado Springs in February. In May, Nick will make his musical theatre debut at the Ringmaster/ Bailey in Barnum, and has booked his frst regional Shakespeare production as Lucio in Measure for Measure with Teatreworks. Jennifer Paschall (B.F.A. Acting) returned to her alma mater to give a series of stage management workshops to current students. She has worked extensively in the United States, as well as at sites in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America for organizations such as Facebook, Amazon, PayPal, Cisco, IBM, ATT, and Time Magazine . Trevor Roderick (B.F.A. Musical Teatre, 2011) made his debut as Lun Ta in the national tour of Te King and I . Anna Uzele (B.F.A. Musical Teatre, 2018) is starring in the new musical Six at Chicago Shakespeare Teatre. Julie White has been nominated for a Tony Award for her featured actress role in Gary: A sequel to Titus Andronicus . [8] Tis is her third Tony nomination; she previously won for Te Little Dog Laughed . Grayson Yockey (B.F.A. Musical Teatre, 2017) starred in Guys and Dolls at Broadway Palm, playing Sky Masterson. DEPARTMENT ACCOLADES Onstage Blog rated the best theatre program in each state, with Texas State named #1 in Texas. Te ranking paid particular attention to the excellence of Texas State’s Teatre Certifcation program. THEHUNCHBACKOFNOTREDAME Te Hunchback of Notre Dame broke box ofce records during its performances in the Patti Strickel Harrison Teatre in late April. [9] Kaitlin Hopkins directed the show, with choreography by Cassie Abate and Musical Direction by Stephanie Wells. Te scenic design was by guest artist, Court Watson; costume design by Brandon R. McWilliams , lighting design by Andrew McIntyre (MFA Design), Sound Design by Bailey Nance (BFA Technical Production). Stage management was by Molly McCarville (BFA Technical Production) and Shannon Richey. Te cast included Ron Ulen (faculty member in the School of Music), and student performers, Daniel Z.
