She was awarded the 2021 Gene Barnwell Waugh Mentor Award. “I don’t think Cindy will ever truly know how much she has transformed my career and changed me personally,” says Sara Peralta, communications consultant to the Ofce of Police Oversight at the City of Austin. “She is a catalyst for so many students like me, spurring and inspiring us to innovate and achieve.” SCHOOL ACCOLADES KTSW 89.9 received 8 awards at the 2021 Virtual Texas Intercollegiate Press Association Convention, including top honors in 4 contests. Te University Star competes in Division I with the following schools: Baylor University, Texas A&M University, University of Texas at Austin, Texas Tech, TCU, SMU, UT-Rio Grande Valley, UT-Arlington, UT-El Paso and UT- Dallas.
