ART AND DESIGN Art , Art Education, Art Histor y, Communication Design, Photography, & Studio Art 2 | April & May 2023 | College News FACULTY ACCOLADES Andrew Chen 's article “Five Invisible Lines, before and after the Reformation” was published in the 2022 volume of the journal Res: Anthropology and Aesthetics . Funding for reproductions and image rights was generously provided by the College of Fine Arts and Communication. Andrew presented a paper titled “ Lotto, Veronese, and the Hieronymites ” at a session on Asceticism and Renaissance Visual Culture at the Annual Meeting of the Renaissance Society of America in Puerto Rico. He was a co-organizer of two sessions on the broader topic. Erina Duganne will participate in a screening of Yvonne Rainer’s The Man Who Envied Women (1985) as part of programming for her co-curated exhibition, Art for the Future: Artists Call and Central American Solidarities , currently on view at the DePaul Art Museum in Chicago. [1] Erina will participate in a public event exploring the visual culture of the global Cold War. The panel features curator Pippa Oldfield, who will moderate a dialogue with Thy Phu and Erina Duganne, the editors of the recently published book, Cold War Camera , award-winning photographer Susan Meiselas, and historian and photographer Tong Lam. Following the panel, Erina Duganne will give a paper, “‘¡No Nos Desapareceremos!’: Artists Call’s Visual Solidarity with Central America,” at a concurrent symposium at the University of Amsterdam organized around Cold War Visual Legacies. Johnathan Faber 's solo exhibition Alluvial Plane opened March 3rd at David Shelton Gallery in Houston. The exhibition will be open until May 15th. Tommy Fitzpatrick will have a solo show of 10 new paintings at Peter Mendenhall Gallery in Los Angeles.
