30 | April & May | College News The College of Fine Arts and Communication’s Council of Scholars is an honor society that includes students who have for three consecutive semesters been a member of the Dean’s List, earning a GPA of 3.5 or higher each semester. Only 5% of the College’s majors, on an annual basis, earn the privilege of being inducted into this prestigious honor society. Founded in 1988, the Council of Scholars includes a list of impressive alums who are making significant contributions to their professions, communities, and families. Our induction ceremony is held each spring semester. Steeped in tradition, the purpose of the ceremony is to recognize, honor, and celebrate those students who have achieved a consistent stellar record of high academic performance. During the ceremony, the honored students will be presented by their Department Chair and College Dean with a certificate of recognition and a Council of Scholars pin.
