Cindy Royal received the 2013 Charles E. Scripps Journalism and Mass Communication Teacher of the Year Award from the Scripps Howard Foundation and a 2013 John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship. Joshua Miller received the 2022 Janice Hocker Rushing Early Career Research Award from the Southern States Communication Association. (PICTURED) Todd Oxford , in 2022, won his 9th Global Music Award. Joey Fauerso was awarded a 2022 Guggenheim Fellowship in the Fine Arts. Craig Hella Johnson , in 2022, as Artistic Director and Conductor of Conspirare, earned his tenth Grammy nomination; previously, they won for their album The Sacred Spirit of Russia (2014). Martin McCain , in 2022, won his 5th Global Music Award. Erina Duganne won a 2022 grant from the Andy Warhol Foundation. Dimitar Ninov won First Prize for composition at the International Festival of Wind Orchestras. Maureen Keeley received the 2021 Bernard Brommel Award for Outstanding Scholarship for Distinguished Service in Family Communication from the National Communication Association. Jennifer Datchuk was selected by the Texas Commission on the Arts as the 2021 State of Texas 3D Artist of the Year; she was also the 2021 Ceramic Artist of the Year by Ceramic Monthly . Joey Fauerso won a 2020 Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptors grant. Amber Hinsley won a 2020 Best Article Award from the Newspaper Research Journa l. Johnny McAllister’s film Bull debuted at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and won three awards at the Deauville American Film Festival in France. Eugene Lee was inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters in 2019; he also won the 2019 Helen Hayes Award for Best Lead Actor. Craig Hella Johnson and Conspirare received a 2019 Medal of Arts honor from the Texas Cultural Trust. John Lopez won the 2019 William Aguilar Cultural Arts Award from the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education. Soomin Remmler won Best of Show award in the Colored Pencil Society of America’s 26th International Annual Exhibition 2018 Chicago. Michael Devlin received the 2018 Emerging Scholar Award from the Communication and Sport Division of the National Communication Association.
