EXTERNAL Recogni t ion Cont inued Beverly Penn was chosen to represent the state of Texas in the exhibition Women to Watch 2018 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Lindsay Timmerman and co-authors received the Distinguished Article Award from the Family Communication Division of the National Communication Association in 2017. (PICTURED) Vanessa Higgins Joyce was selected as a 2017 Kopenhaver Center Fellow. Beverly Penn was awarded a 2017 Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Artist Award; she was selected by the Texas Commission on the Arts as the 2017 State of Texas 3D Artist of the Year. Michael Devlin was the second-place recipient of the 2017 Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Most Promising Professor Award. Maureen Keeley received the 2016 Distinguished Article of the Year from the Health Communication Division of the National Communication Association and the 2016 Outstanding Article of the Year from the Journal of Family Communication . Marian L. Houser was named an Eastern Communication Association 2016 Research Fellow. Eugene Lee won Best Actor awards in Pittsburgh (2016) and Chicago (2015), with additional nominations in Atlanta and Boston (2015). Stephanie L. Dailey received the 2015 Rising Star Award from the Training and Development Division of the National Communication Association. Todd Oxford was nominated for a Grammy (Contemporary Instrumental Album Category) for his 2014 solo CD Synaesthesia . (PICTURED) Tricia Burke received the 2014 Article of the Year from the Journal of Family Communication. Rebekah Fox received the 2014 Janice Hocker Rushing Early Career Research Award from the Southern States Communication Association. Rebekah Fox and Ann Burnette received the 2014 James Madison Prize from the Free Speech Division of the Southern States Communication Association. Craig Hella Johnson was selected by the Texas Commission on the Arts as the 2013 State of Texas Music Artist of the Year. Hank Hehmsoth was a 2012 MacDowell Norton Stevens Fellow in Composition. Cynthia Gonzales , as a vocalist and soprano section leader with the professional choral ensemble Conspirare, sang on the Grammy-nominated albums A Company of Voices (2009), Threshold of Night (2008), and Requiem (2006). Ian Davidson and Faith DeBow were performers on Conspirare’s Grammy-nominated album A Company of Voices (2009). Roseann Mandziuk received the 2008 Gender Scholar of the Year Award from the Southern States Communication Association. Nico Schüler received the 2006-07 Distinguished International Researcher Award from the Univeristiy of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
