• #1 Best Value and #2 Best Quality undergraduate Dance program in the country (College Factual 2021) • Graduates more dance students than any other university in the state • Dance faculty have performed , choreographed, and/or presented their video dances in over 40 countries . • Creation in Motion Touring Ensemble for Young Audiences (CIMTEYA) hosted several hundred local school children for STREAM in Motion (educational dance performance) • Merge Dance Company has performed in the Footprint Festival in London, the COCO Dance Festival in Trinidad and Tobago, and the DUMBO International Dance Festival in New York City • Nearly 100% job placement of Teacher Certification students • Regularly earn honors at the state and regional levels of the American College Dance Festival • Both a student work and a faculty work were selected for performance at the Gala Concert of the 2023 regional American College Dance Festival • Students and alumni have earned scholarships to the Mark Morris Dance Intensive, Gus Giordano Dance Intensive, and Broadway Dance Center in NYC • Performance ensembles: Opening Door Dance Theatre, Orchesis Dance Company, Transient Dance Collective, Merge Dance Company (the program’s touring company), CIMTEYA, an outreach program that conducts residencies in schools, and Inspired by Aliyha (IBA) Dance Company • Hosted the Texas Dance Improvisation Festival in October 2022 • Hosted Semilla Festival in summer 2021 and 2022, an interdisciplinary performing arts festival celebrating the contemporary voices of Hispanic and African diasporas. • 10th largest dance program in the country Recent Accolades 43 College of Fine Arts and Communication
