surrounding contemporary motherhood, is the creation of Crystal Franz (MFA 2013), Ashleigh Pedersen , and faculty member, Claire Canavan. Laura T. Garza (MFA 2013) directed Lope de Vega’s Madness in Valencia - a production that won 3 of 6 awards including Excellence in Direction of a Comedy at the Alamo Theatre Arts Council Globe Awards as part of San Antonio College’s Summer Rep Theatre. Ernie Gonzalez, Jr. (BFA class of 2003) is currently appearing in two nationally broadcast commercials for Rite Aid and Lowe’s. He teaches improvisation at Second City Hollywood and acting for the UCLA Extension Acting Certificate Program. In addition, Ernie heads Laughter for a Change’s improv troupe, serving the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. He also volunteers frequently at the Angel Food Project. Phillip Guevara has accepted an offer from Titan Theatre Company to perform in Julius Caesar at the Queens Theatre this upcoming March/April. He’ll be playing Marullus/ Ensemble and understudying Brutus. This will be Phillip’s New York debut. Jorge Jimenez (BFA P&P) plays Poison in Netf licks’ Narcos , which was just nominated for a Golden Globe for “Best TV Drama.” Danny Lutman has built an active profile in the LA scene. He recently graduated from the Nerdist School, an improv training program led by character actor, Ptolemy Slocum ( The Wire, VEEP, The Sopranos ). He performs regularly with two troupes, Cousins and Roundhouse, and in Second City’s Really Awesome Improv Show , which was voted Best Kids’ Comedy Show by Los Angeles Magazine . He has also been cast in a new web series called, Losing It . The Elliot Homestead , a cooking series developed by Danny, has completed its first season. Morgan MacInnes (BFA 2015) will play Nina in Christopher Durang’s Vanya, Sonja, Masha, and Spike under an equity contract at the Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, Florida. Morgan played this role at the Zach Theatre in Austin last spring. Mike Moore and David Reed were nominated for a Writer’s Guild of America “Short Form New Media” Award for The Summer of Love, Part 1: Meet Charlie – an episode of the webseries Aquarius . Betty Marie Muessig (BFA 2015) will play the role of Patty Simcox in Grease on Royal Carribbean’s European Cruise. This is the first production of this show on a cruise ship. Chelcie Ross is currently shooting a new script called New Money , a f irst feature for Jason Kohl, with Tom Wopat, Louisa Krause and Robin Weigert. This past summer, Chelcie shot an independent f ilm, Imperfections , with Ed Begley and Marilu Henner. Chelcie also appeared in Mother Road , a play by Octavio Solis, at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago and continues in his role as Trudy Platt’s dad on Chicago P.D . Joshua Samaniego (BFA 2014) is in his second year of graduate school at The University of Arkansas, pursuing a degree in scenic design. He works as a charge artist at Theatre Squared and recently worked as Assistant Designer to James Fenton on Peter and The Star Catcher , directed by Mark Shanahan at The Arkansas Rep. A. Julian Verner (MFA 2014) directed The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek for Catalyst Arts Atlanta. Texas State theatre graduates, Jordan Visage and Lowell Bundick , worked backstage as Wardrobe Supervisor and Costume Crew for Doctuh Mistuh’s production of Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical . Visage and Bundick also worked on the running crew Disgraced with Doctuh Mistuh Productions. David Weynand (MFA 2014) is in his second year at University of Arizona’s Theatre, Film and Television School. David directed Psycho Beach Party and The Caucasian Chalk Circle for the department and is currently in rehearsal for The Tempest (Alonso) and The Comedy of Errors (Aegean) for the Arizona Repertory Theatre. Robert Wighs (2013) is in his second year of the doctoral program at the University of Washington. Last fall he delivered a paper
