1 Speech and Debate played at the PSH Studio Teatre in January 2 M.F.A. directing student Liz Fisher in a Hamlet rehearsal, as featured in American Teatre 3 Preston Straus in Zach Teatre’s production of Te Curios Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time THEATRE Acting, Musical Theatre, Per formance and Production, Teacher Certif ication in Theatre, Technical Production, & Theatre FACULTY ACCOLADES Linda Nenno Breining directed a short play by Joy Cunningham at Hyde Park Teatre for the Austin’s Frontera Fest. She is also stage managing Te Seagull , playing through February 25 at Austin Shakespeare. Betty Buckley is working with Mattel to produce a Wishbone Christmas TV Special. Claire Canavan performed in Mortifed , a live storytelling show featuring original comedic pieces (adults sharing their childhood diaries), at the Spiderhouse Ballroom in mid-February. Crystal Franz directed Pride and Prejudice at the Emily Ann Teatre in Wimberley in February. Kate Glasheen received an award from the University’s Research Enhancement Program to fund her research in “Negotiating the Craft of the Triple Treat.” Laura Lane has been cast as Agamemnon in Kirk Lynn’s newest play, Fixing Troilus and Cressida , to be produced by the Rude Mechs, March 11 through April 1. Eugene Lee’s East Texas Hot Links was named one of the 10 best Pittsburgh theatre experiences of 2017 by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette . Eugene Lee was a featured speaker at the Roundtable Writer’s Breakfast, hosted by Te Black Academy of Arts and Letters at the Dallas Convention Center Teatre Complex in mid-February. Mr. Lee spoke on the importance of Black Teatre, as art and entertainment, in American culture today. David Stahl recently played the role of Friar Lawrence in Romeo and Juliet at St. Edward’s University in Austin.
