JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION Advertising, Digital Media Innovation, Electronic Media , Mass Communication, Journalism, & Public Relations FACULTY ACCOLADES Nandini Bhalla published a co-authored paper, "Examining the Determinants of Consumer Support for Corporate Social Advocac" in Corporate Communications: An International Journal . She also received a service-learning grant for her spring 2023 MC4313 course Advanced PR writing. Ali Forbes along with her coauthor Dr. John McGuire (Oklahoma State University) had their paper "Breaking Up is Not-So-Hard to Do: Image Repair and Conference Realignment" chosen second place in the Sports Division - Top Research Presentation at the 2023 BEA Convention taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 2023. Texas State was one of only three universities nationwide to be awarded an IRE on Campus grant. Journalism Program Coordinator Kym Fox coordinated the February event, which featured three days of training by investigative reporters and editors on topics ranging from data journalism to diversity and inclusion. The grant also includes IRE memberships for 25 students. Investigative Reporters and Editors Training Director Laura Moscoso taught journalism students how to use Datawrapper, a visualization tool, as part of the IRE on Campus grant awarded to Professor Kym Fox and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Moscoso is a journalist in Puerto Rico and conducted the training session over Zoom. [1] Kelly Kaufhold has been named vice president of the Southwest Education Council for Journalism and Mass Communication (SWECJMC).
