ART AND DESIGN Art , Art Education, Art Histor y, Communication Design, Photography, & Studio Art 2 | January & February | College News FACULTY ACCOLADES Jennifer Ling Datchuk was a juror for the 2023 United States Artists Fellowship, a nominated and unrestricted award of $50,000 that recognizes the country's most compelling artists across all disciplines. Jennifer is part of the group exhibition Façade at the Visual Arts Center at University of Texas Austin. Façade brings together the work of artists from various disciplines and backgrounds who explore the truths that exist within any given object, historical narrative, or our performances of identity. Opened January 20 and runs through March 10. Her porcelain cowgirl boot sculpture "Giddy Up" was acquired by the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans. It is part of their 20th anniversary exhibition Knowing Who We Are . [1] Jennifer participated in a virtual panel discussion "Confrontation and Self-Representation: Self Images by People of Color" hosted by The Color Network, an organization who aids in the advancement of people of color in ceramics. Her work was included in the Hyperallergic article "How Has the Supply Chain Crisis Affected Artists?" Erina Duganne 's edited with Thy Phu and the late Andrea Noble, Cold War Camera , has been published by Duke University Press. The book includes a chapter by Duganne on Group Material’s transnational solidarity. A conference and launch around the book will take place in Amsterdam in May. Erina will present a paper on “Artists Call, Solidarity, and the Problem of Critique in Contemporary Art” at this year’s College Art Association national conference in New York City as part of a panel Jennifer Ling Datchuk's porcelain cowgirl boot sculpture "Giddy Up" Bethany Johnson is a recipient of a Pollock- Krasner Foundation Grant Two of Soomin Remmlers works were acquired by Stanford Healthcare 1 2 3
