Tommy Fitzpatrick will have a solo show of new paintings at David Richard Gallery in New York City. The show opens on Feb. 14th and runs through March 10th. David Richard Gallery will represent Fitzpatrick's work in New York City in the future. Margo Handwerker gave a public webinar for the Holt /Smithson Foundation on December 15, concluding her 2022 Holt /Smithson Foundation Research Fellowship. She shared her research on Robert Smithson's unrealized 1972 mining reclamation proposal for Lake Edge Crescents in Ohio. She is stepping down from the board of directors of the San Marcos Art League, effective April 1. Handwerker is the newly appointed vice president of the board of directors for the Calaboose African American History Museum. Bethany Johnson is a 2023 recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. In support of Lee Krasner's mission to advance the work of visual artists, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation is honored to provide support to the growing list of nearly 5,000 PKF grantees who have received $84 million across 79 countries to date. Beverly Penn will have a solo exhbition, Foregrounding, at the Cedarhurst Museum Center for the Arts, in Mount Vernon, IL, May 12 – July 17.  Accompanying the exhibition will be a book signing event for Beverly Penn: Foregrounding , published by French & Michigan, San Antonio.   Beverly's work will be featured in three upcoming group exhibitions. The first is titled, Two Suggestions and will be held at Bongsan Culture Center, Jung-gu, Daegu, South Korea, from July – Sept. The second one is titled, Deeply Rooted: The Tree of Life and will be held at Alexey von Schlippe Gallery – Avery Point, University of Connecticut during the month of April. The third is titled Seeing Truth and it will be held at the Contemporary Art Galleries - Storrs, University of Connecticut during the month of April. Elvia Perrin 's print "Chiral" was purchased and will be featured in the upcoming second season of  And Just like That aka Sex and the City for Lisette's apartment, Carrie's new neighbor.  Soomin Remmler 's works will be on view in the inaugural residency, The Studio with McNay in San Antonio, until the 31st of January. Featured works are "Love At First Sight," "Fresh Green," "Sunrise," and "When You Think Of Me." Two of Soomin Remmler's drawings, "When You Call My Name Quietly" and "Softly and Gingerly," were acquired by Stanford Healthcare. [3] Claudia Roeschmann was invited to present as part of an international panel “Cases and Projects on Virtual Exchange and Intercultural Competences” at the Online Education Berlin (OEB) Conference on November 25, 2022, in Berlin. Claudia was also selected to moderate the “Embedding soft skills to enhance future employability” panel. M. Wright and Kate Jarboe will give a visiting lecture at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, on February 2, 2023. They will discuss the intersection of design, politics, and collective action, and will conduct a workshop with the graduate students in the MA Regenerative Design program.  SCHOOL ACCOLADES The Texas State Galleries exhibition Mind Windows: The Art of Roberto Rios was awarded a Challenge America award of $10,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts.
