Faculty Accolades Dr. Lynn Brinckmeyer led a delegation of music educators and guests to Lima and Cusco, Peru. The delegation visited universities and schools there to learn about music education in Peru. One of our Texas State alums, Eduardo Garcia , teaches at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias in Lima. He met up with the delegation during their visit. The delegates also toured the majestic mountains of Peru and Machu Picchu. Todd Oxford and Mark Cruz performed at the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial National Conference - Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Oxford also appeared as an Artist/ Endorser with Andreas Eastman Saxophones in the Conference Exhibit Hall. Dr. Oxford recently hosted guest saxophone artist, Jessica Voigt Page, in a recital and master class. He also collaborated with Andreas Eastman Saxophones on a series of promotional videos to be used by the nationally recognized BandDirector.com website. Dr. Martin McCain started the spring semester with several residencies, including the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Southwestern University and the University of Texas – San Antonio where he presented masterclasses, performed recitals and taught lessons. He performed in the pit orchestra for Cinderella the Musical and also performed a series of school concerts with the Austin Chamber Music Center. In February, he hosted the 6th Annual Texas State Trombone Symposium, which featured trombone artists across the world and included the final round of the Conn-Selmer Tenor Trombone, Edwards Bass Trombone and Rath Jazz Trombone Solo competitions, which are competitive on a national level. A week later, McCain hosted guest artist Christopher Davis from Northwestern University. McCain’s CD Trombone Czar was featured recently on MUSIC TMEA Region 28 Jazz Band in Harlingen
