Ana was invited as a panelist at the Innovative Research & Identity Panel, for the Texas State Philosophy Department. Ana Baer’s Wild-er-ness was selected by the Seyr Festival of Screen- Movement and Media Arts in Teheran, Iran and by CineCorps Festival, Rennes, France. Wild-er-ness is a collaboration with Heike Salzer , Michelle Nance , Richard D. Hall , and Robert Burton . Ana Baer and Cherie DeVol , presented their research in collaborative art-making practices at the World Dance Alliance of the Americas general assembly hosted by the University of Texas-El Paso. Ana Baer co-produced with Nicole Wesley Momento a Momento , Merge Dance Concert at the Patti Strickel Harrison Teatre. Misti Galvan’s Tesis Performance entitled, Illumination: Bones & Stones , premiered on Saturday, March 9, and had 65 attendees. [1] Tis is part of Galvan’s graduate work through Wilson College. She will receive her Master of Fine Arts in Choreography on May 19. Texas State Dance Majors, Laura Grahmann , Mackenzie Grumbles , Tayler Jenkins , Megan Moss , and Estelle Saba , along with Texas State alumni, Rebekah Balli performed with Galvan. Nina A. Padilla , also a Texas State alumni captured the performance through video and photography. Michelle Nance and Kaysie Seitz Brown taught master classes in Creative Movement, Modern Dance, and Choreography at the American College Dance Association Conference March 7-11 in College Station. Tey chaperoned twenty two students who participated in master classes and performed, receiving high accolades from the adjudicators. Christa Oliver set a piece on Merge Dance Company for their spring concert at the Patti Strickel Harrison Teatre. Nicole Wesley conducted a workshop entitled Devised Pedagogy in Collaborative Cross-Boundary Music & Dance Creation at the 2019 World Dance Alliance of the Americas Conference in El Paso in February. Nicole also choreographed a work for the Teatre Department’s performance of Te Tempest . Nicole Wesley , Kaysie Seitz Brown , and Michelle Nance performed Ana Baer’s screendance Doll’s Eyes at the 2019 World Dance Alliance of the Americas Conference in El Paso in February, with set design by Cheri DeVol . [ 2] Additionally, the team collaborated in the flming of the new piece WECreate Spaces in El Paso. [ 3] ALUMNI ACCOLADES Bonnie Cox presented her work at the World Dance Alliance in El Paso. Lynzy Lab is a performer, educator, and activist whose original song “A Scary Time (for Boys)” went viral overnight, landing her performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! , the main stage of the 2019 MAKERS Conference, and multiple TEDx events, including the TEDxWomen Conference in Switzerland. She was featured in InStyle magazine’s “Badass 50 issue,” alongside Michelle Obama, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, and Hannah Gadsby. She joined a panel of speakers to discuss her role as an “Innovator of TX State” during a breakout session at the 2019 Leadership Institute’s Annual Conference. She also attended the MAKERS Conference in Los Angeles, where she performed her song “A Scary Time (for Boys).” Most recently, Lynzy performed a short set of original songs at SXSW as part of their International Women’s Day Celebration sponsored by the European Union and UNWomen.
