JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION Advertising, Digital Media Innovation, Electronic Media , Mass Communication, Journalism, & Public Relations FACULTY ACCOLADES Nandini Bhalla published her first pedagogy paper (first-authored), Eco-Tourism Campaigns as a Framework for Global PR Course. It is published in the Journal of Public Relations Education , flagship journal of the public relations division, AEJMC. Nandini Bhalla co-authored the paper, The Medium is the Message: Testing the Effect of Corporate Social Advocacy (CSA) Messages and Call-to-Action Statements on Advocating Behavioral Intentions. She also co-authored a paper presented at the 26th annual International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC), March 2-4, Orlando, Florida. Harry Bowers introduced students to City of New Braunfels Director of Communications and Community Engagement, Jenna Vinson and her team. She educated students about communication career opportunities in municipalities and in the public sector in general. This included presentations by their digital strategies coordinator, creative marketing coordinator, special events coordinator, and communications manager. Among the New Braunfels Communications and Community Engagement team members were Texas State University alumni Jenna Vinson and Alex Hartman . Kelly Kaufhold presented research February 24 at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Midwinter Conference, at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Kaufhold presented “Tribe Trumps facts: Novel measures of hostile media and partisan hypocrisy,” which featured two embedded experiments to measure political attitudes, and also included unique measures of policy positions and new social media like Parler, Gettr and Judy Oskam gave two presentations at the American Advertising Federation Student Advertising Career Conference Katie Harvey is the Chief Executive Officer of KGBTexas Communications Glen McMicken (left) receiving the 2022 Don Potts Award for Outstanding Statistical Work by the Federation of American Statisticians of Track 10 | March | College News 1 2 3
