He has been involved with the organization in various capacities since 1989 and has served as a press officer for U.S. teams in international competition and was honored with the 2022 Don Potts Award for Outstanding Statistical Work by the Federation of American Statisticians of Track. McMicken also volunteers with the Missions Communications team at Grace Fellowship Church in Katy. [3] MeWe. Dr. Kaufhold also served as moderator on two other panels at the conference. Judy Oskam was a featured speaker for the online American Advertising Federation Student Advertising Career Conference on March 2-4. She gave two presentations focusing on strengths and behavior design for advertising students across the country. You can hear her presentations by following this link. [1] STUDENT ACCOLADES Each year, 50 Most Promising Multicultural Students have an opportunity to meet with professionals from top advertisers, media companies and advertising agencies at an exclusive Most Promising Multicultural Students Recruiters Expo. This year Advertising Major Jenna Ramon and Advertising alum Erica Fierro were 2 of the 50 students across the country selected and were celebrated on an MPMS billboard in Times Square. ALUMNI ACCOLADES Katie Harvey and her team, including partners and department directors at KGB Texas, educated students about the world of and careers in Public Relations, Advertising and Public Affairs. Among the presenters were two TXST alumna in addition to CEO Katie Harvey. [2] Sean Talbot and members of the KSAT 12 team educated students about the broad career options well beyond traditional broadcasting at KSAT 12. Students met with reporters, MMJs, producers, the news director, the national sales manager, a meteorologist, and assignments editors. They also sat in the studio and control room during a live newscast. Glen McMicken ( Journalism 1984) spent many years in the collegiate track and field coaching ranks and dabbling in sports information and media relations at schools in Texas and Wisconsin. Glen is a statistical and historical consultant for USA Track & Field and does statistical compilations for Track & Field News magazine. McMicken assists track and field's College of Fine Arts and Communication | 11 #ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT Justin Sprague (Electronic Media 2015) was part of a team that won an Emmy for Best Sports Doc in 2017 with the Ironman World Championship for NBC. He is the vice president of development at Terminal B TV, an unscripted television production company. He started working in TV for Texas Crew Productions as an undergrad in 2012. Some of the shows produced and developed while at Texas Crew include ESPN’s 30 for 30 , Brian and The Boz , Phi Slamma Jamma , Esquire’s Friday Night Tykes , History Channel’s Alcatraz: Search for the Truth , and Oxygen’s The Disappearance of Maura Murray . While at Texas Crew in 2017, he won a National Emmy for his work on NBC's Ironman World Championship . Recently, he was Vice President of Development at Critical Content, where he developed over 30 shows, including ABC’s Extreme Makeover , MTV’s Catfish, CBS’s The Case of JonBenet Ramsey , Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race , Netflix's Get Organized , Buy My House , Instant Dream Home , World's Best Vacation Rentals , and many more. Now with ex-Critical Content CEO Tom Forman, Justin is starting a new production company, Terminal B TV, that will focus on creating documentary films and series. They have shows already in development with Amazon, and Peacock.
