THEATRE Acting, Musical Theatre, Per formance and Production, Teacher Certif ication in Theatre, Technical Production, & Theatre FACULTY ACCOLADES Cassie Abate choreographed Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella , co-produced by the ZACH Theatre and Deaf Austin Theatre. The production featured a cast of deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing actors. Ana Martinez gave a presentation titled "Empowering our Students' Present and Future through Chicano Theatre" at the 48th Annual TACHE (Texas Association for Chicanos in Higher Education) State Conference Iluminando Nuestro Futuro: Honoring our History and Illuminating the Future of Latinx Intersectionality in Higher Education. As part of her University Lecture Series grant, Dr. Martinez curated Cristiana Giordano and Greg Pierotti's recent visit to campus to present their trademark lecture and workshop "Getting Caught: A Collaboration On and Off Stage Between Theatre and Anthropology." Richard Robichaux stars alongside Dennis Quaid and Cheech Marin in The Long Game , a film that won the Audience Award at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival. [1] Annie Silverstein Co-Directed Breaking Silence, a short documentary. The documentary won two awards at SXSW this year - the jury award for Best Texas Short and the Audience Award for Best Texas Short. Breaking Silence was funded by PBS Independent. STUDENT ACCOLADES Texas State tech and design students represented at KCACTF region 6, taking home many awards with a total of five Texas State Bobcats advancing to the national competition in Washington D.C. Rachel Aho won the Barbizon KCACTF award for theatrical design excellence for their work on Gloria . Jennifer Gonzalez was the runner up.
