She also was cast in Natalia Luna's (P&P '26) web series Tough Luck - Momma's Boy along with Shayla Richardson (P&P '26) and Gianni Trevino (Acting '25). She also served as the Representation, Equity, and Diversity (RED) Co-Chair for the Region 6 Kennedy Center American College and Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Conference and organized the first live performance of the Anoli Dancers of Oklahoma at the conference in collaboration with the Indigenous Cultures Institute of TXST. Paige Blackwell won the Design, Technology, and Manage- ment Region 6 first place honorable mention in Lighting design for their work on Our Town . Emma Bayless was a national finalist for KCACTF’s Award for Theatrical Design Excellence in Scenic for their work on Our Town . Jacob Canderozzi (’25) and Amaya Adams (’26) were seen in Jersey Boys at the Zach Theatre in Austin as Tommy Devito/Swing and as the assistant choreographer. Maximilliano Estudillo Cantu won the Design, Technolo- gy, and Management Region 6 first place honorable mention in Scenic Design for their work on Escobar’s Hippo . Buseick Award for Directing Excellence National Finalist at the Region 6 KCACTF conference in Abilene, Texas. Morgan Smithwick (P&P 26) earned the Region 6 LMDA/ KCACTF Student Dramaturgy Award this March in Abilene, Texas. Ileanna Villalobos won the Design, Technology, and Man- agement honorable mention in Stage Management for their work on Our Town . Frida Cantu (P&P '24) made her debut with The Stage Austin in the role of Nina in Christopher Durang's Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike . Lily Kren (’21) was in Noises Off at the Gulfshore Playhouse. Ashlyn Maddox (’20) was on Law And Order as Martha. Adriana Scalice (’22) was cast as Vanessa in Signature Theatre’s In The Heights . Lizzy Tucker (’24) made her Broadway debut in BOOP! Gianna Yanelli (’14) opened SIX on Broadway as Anne Boleyn. Ana Yi Puig (’20) opened Nobody Loves You as Samantha at American Conservatory Theatre. DEPARTMENT ACCOLADES The River Bride had a successful run in the Texas State School of Theatre, Dance, and Film Season. The production was directed by Robby Sciortino and assistant directed by Alex Blanco . The production featured Bobcat talents such as: Damara Ortis , Esmeralda Navarro Garcia , Giulia Garbage , Emilio Amaya , Cleofas Soto V , James Cazares , Gaby Melendez Troconis , and Cayden Baratolo . The 3rd Annual Young, Gifted and Black Showcase performed on February 23rd at 7:30pm in Evans Auditorium. It featured a night of performances by black students in the Department of Theatre, Dance, and Film written by Black artists. It was produced by Cameron Thomas , Tyler Wesley , Al Igbinigie , and Drew Barber . The showcase was advised by faculty member Aaron Brown .
