DANCE Dance Studies, Per formance & Choreography, Single Teaching Certif ication, & Dual Teaching Certif ications FACULTY ACCOLADES Ana Baer co-produced Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema in Trinidad, Port of Spain in collaboration with the COCO Dance Festival October 20 – 27. During the festival, Ana taught dance for the camera workshops and began work on her latest dance film in Port of Spain. In addition to her artistic work, Ana was instrumental in supporting and co-chaperoning 12 students from the Merge Dance Company to the 2016 COCO Dance Festival in Trinidad. [ 1 ] Kaysie Seitz Brown collaborated with Texas State student Misti Galvan on the development and implementation of a professional development “Learning through Movement” workshop for educators on October 15. Kaysie’s student ensemble CIM TEYA performed the dancework Air Vita at TEDx Texas State University on November 5. Shay Ishii received funding from the City of Austin Cultural Arts Division for a production of Dancestry at the Rollins Studio of the Long Center in March 2017. She was also invited to present choreography with dance faculty Pat Stone and alum Anna Antoniewicz at the 2017 International Body Mind Centering Conference. Christa Oliver is choreographing A Christmas Carol at Zach Theatre this year and was reviewed recently by BroadwayWorld.com. The musical runs November 23-December 31, 2016. Christa also contributed to the RRISD College Day and coordinated a performance, as well as, organizing a booth for perspective students in November. Lastly, Christa is choreographing the Jazz Nutcracker in collaboration with Dr. Utah Hamrick from Texas State’s School of Music. [ 2 ] LeAnne Smith served as Artistic Director for Choreographers’ Showcase with Lighting and Technical Direction by Scott Vandenberg.
