DANCE Dance Studies, Per formance & Choreography, Single Teaching Certif ication, & Dual Teaching Certif ications FACULTY ACCOLADES Kaysie Seitz Brown choreographed work in collaboration with Nicole Wesley and the dancers of CIM TEYA, entitled “Echoes of the Skin.” [ 1 ] The work had its world premiere at the COCO International Dance Festival on October 28 in Port of Spain, Trinidad. “Echoes of the Skin” was also performed in Choreographers’ Showcase and Opening Door Dance Theatre’s In Search of Mercy . While in Trinidad, the dancers of CIM TEYA also had the opportunity to take class from Toula Limnaios, Artistic Director and Choreographer of Toula Limnaios Dance Company from Berlin, Germany. Ana Baer Carrillo premiered the choreography “Belong” with Merge Dance Company during TEDx. In November, Ana presented “Trans Pecos,” choreography by Amanda McCorkle and light design by Scott Vandenberg and video production by Ana Baer, at Choreographers’ Showcase . Brandon Gonzalez performed “The shape of our shapes (and the skin of that)” with Pat Stone at the Texas State University Galleries (FL3X Gallery). Brandon conducted a guest artist residency at Eastfield College in Dallas and created “Body Textures,” a video installation and performance with dance students. In November, Brandon attended and taught at the Texas Dance Improvisation Festival 2017. Shay Ishii was awarded funding from the City of San Marcos, for the March 2018 production of A Moment , an evening of music, art and dance featuring dance faculty: Pat Stone , LeAnne Smith and Shay Ishii Echoes of the Skin featuring Enriquetta Garcia, Rebekah Balli, Kaila Cumby at the COCO Dance Festival Master class with former Alvin Ailey dancer Christopher Huggins Redux .
