FACULTY ACCOLADES Stephanie Dailey participated in a webinar for National Distance Learning Week titled, “Excellence in Online Teaching: A Discussion Forum with Award-Winning Texas State Faculty.” Sean Horan published “Guns on campus: Creating research to inform practice in Communication Education with Texas State M.A. alum Dr. Leah Bryant. Sean also published “Condom communication: Reports of sexually active young adults’ recent messages with new partners” in the Journal of Health Communication with Texas State M.A. alum Lauren Cafferty. Sean was also recently cited in a Communication Education article reporting individual publication rates in 24 journals from the field for the years 2012–2016. He ranks as the 5th most prolific researcher during that time. Roseann Mandziuk received the 2017 National Communication Association Women’s Caucus Francine Merritt Award at the annual convention in Dallas. The award is given in recognition of a member who has made outstanding contributions to the lives of women in communication. Roseann also was presented with the Presidential Citation for Service for her contributions as a member of the Working Group on NCA Diversity.
