C3 The Center for Communication, Collaboration & Creativit y (C3) COFAC FACULTY AWARDED THE 2ND MOST REP FUNDING In December, the FY 2023 Research Enhancement Program (REP) grant cycle awarded eleven projects totaling $93,70 to the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) faculty. Among all colleges, COFAC was awarded the second most total funding in the REP competition. A total of 25 applications were submitted with COFAC faculty serving as the project leads. The FY 2023 REP awardees include: Andrew Chen, MiHyun Kim, Mark Menjivar, Jeffrey Lieber, Josh Miller, Stephanie Dailey, Marian Houser, Michael Ippolito, Nico Schuler, Hank Hehmsoth, and Sam Flippin . Congratulations to these awardees and all applicants who helped our college have another strong year of REP funding! The C3 team encourages all COFAC faculty who applied for a REP in this past funding cycle and, in the ones prior, to work with C3 to seek external funding opportunities for their projects. Furthermore, Matthew Winn ( mwinn@txstate.edu ) is always happy to help faculty get a jumpstart on REP proposals for the FY 2024 funding cycle! BLACK AND LATINO PLAYWRIGHTS AWARDED A $5,000 GRANT The Black and Latino Playwrights Celebration (BLPC), led by Artistic Director Eugene Lee, was awarded a $5,000 Humanities Texas grant. The grant will support the 2023 BLPC that will take place from August 28 through September 3. The celebration will feature open rehearsals of plays written by talented Black and Latino playwrights, and honor a distinguished artist or group. At this time, the 2023 BLPC honored guest has yet to be confirmed. All students, staff, and faculty are welcome to attend the open rehearsals, play readings, and the tribute to the honored guest.
