DANCE Dance Studies, Per formance & Choreography, Single Teaching Certif ication, & Dual Teaching Certif ications FACULTY ACCOLADES Kaysie Seitz Brown performed her solo “Falling Up” [ 1 ] and in Shay Ishii’s “Above, Below, Beyond” in the Erick Hawkins concert evening Legend & Legacy as a part of the Opening Door Dance Theatre collaboration with the Symposium on Philosophy and Dance. She also sat on the panels “FSC: Northrop’s 1st and 2nd Function Art and its Impact on the Work of Erick Hawkins” and “Erick Hawkins Dance Technique: A Philosophical Journey Towards a Body-Centered Technique.” Kaysie was also invited to teach a workshop to Texas State early education majors along with Movement & Learning Program Coordinator, Misti Galvan. She and Ms. Galvan will teach a second workshop as Professional Development training for local San Marcos early education teachers this Oct. 15th. Shay Ishii performed, choreographed and costumed “Above, Below, Beyond,” [ 2 ] which was presented in the Erick Hawkins Concert at the Dance and Philosophy Symposium. Shay also participated in three Panel Discussions at the Symposium: “Dancestry: An Experiential and Performance-based Model for Modern Dance History,” “Erick Hawkins Dance Technique: A Philosophical Journey Towards a Body-Centered Technique,” and “The Aesthetic and Philosophy of Erick Hawkins.” Michelle Nance sat on two Panel Discussions, “FSC: Northrop’s 1st and 2nd Function Art and its Impact on the Work of Erick Hawkins” and “Erick Hawkins Dance Technique: A Philosophical Journey Towards a Body-Centered Technique,” as part of the Philosophy and Dance Symposium at Texas State.
