THE UNIVERSITY GALLERIES Galleries 1 & 2 are physically located within the School of Art & Design at Texas State Universit y. SURVEY: TEXAS SCULPTURE GROUP The purpose of this survey is to examine and record the features of contemporary sculpture so as to generate a description of the potential of that mode of art making in Texas today. This exhibition attempts to affirm the trajectory of artists working primarily to produce three-dimensional artwork in the state of Texas as represented by selections from an open call to members of the Texas Sculpture Group. As one of three affiliates operating in cooperation with the International Sculpture Center, the Texas Sculpture Group works to advance camaraderie among those who make, collect, research and simply enjoy sculpture in Texas.
