Technical Production) worked as the Stitcher Intern at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival in Boulder, Colorado this summer. Liz Fisher (M.F.A. Directing) attended the 2018 Princess Grace Awards Gala in New York City. She was one of eight theatre practitioners from across the country recognized as “one of America’s most promising artists”. Matthew Kennedy (B.F.A. Acting) was nominated for a B. Iden Payne award for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels , a production of Summer Stock Austin. Nick Hart (B.F.A. Technical Production) served as Phillip Owen’s assistant sound designer on Dancing at Lughnasa at Everyman Teatre in Baltimore. He expects to move to the DC/Baltimore area in early 2019. Hank Kersten (B.F.A. Technical Production) mixed Lucky Stif at the Austin Playhouse and Te Music Man and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels for Summer Stock Austin in the Rollins Teater at the Long Center. Anne-Marie Kolb (B.F.A. Technical Production) worked as a tech intern for Camp Showbiz at Te Magik Teatre in San Antonio this summer. Andrew McDaniels (M.F.A. Lighting Design) and Alexandra Tomas (B.F.A. Technical Production) were Assistant Lighting Designers for Once at ZACH Teatre from September 19 - October 28. [4] Andrew McIntyre (M.F.A. Lighting Design) designed projections for a piece in the COCO 2018 Dance Festival. Andrew will be Assistant Lighting Designer for Matilda at ZACHTeatre in Austin this Spring. Michael Moody’s play, Why Can’t You? , is being performed at Collin College at their Little Gems play festival. In November, he’ll record a music video in Louisiana. His fght direction can be seen here. Michael is a B.F.A. Acting major. Sydney Rhiannon Smith (M.F.A. Lighting Design) will be Assistant Lighting Designer for Terrance McNally’s 80th birthday jubilee featuring Oscar and Golden Globe winner F. Murray Abraham, Emmy winner Richard Tomas, Tony, Obie and Drama Desk winner John Glover at ZACHTeatre this November. She will also be Assistant Lighting Designer for A Christmas Carol: A Rockin’ Musical also at ZACHTeatre in Austin. Caitlin Turnage’s play Stone Pebble Girls had a reading at Wordsmythe Teatre in Houston. Caitlin is a M.F.A. Dramatic Writing student. Imagine Tat! , a play written by Audrey Webb (M.F.A. Dramatic Writing), has been selected as a semi-fnalist in the Stage Play category of the 2018 Austin Film Festival Script Competition. Te play was under the direction of graduate student, Alex Rodriguez and ran until October 14 in the PSH Foundation Studio Teatre at Texas State University. [5] ALUMNI ACCOLADES Noah Allen (B.F.A. Technical Production) is working at High End in Austin and recently helped train current M.F.A. Design students Carlos Nine and Sydney Smith on the Hog 4 lighting console. Ryan Casteneda (B.F.A. Technical Production - 2018) got his frst professional mixing job mixing All Shook Up at Zilker Hillside Teatre in the summer. Annalise Caudle (M.F.A. Design 2018) is the Assistant Lighting Design intern for the Milwaukee Rep’s 2018- 2019 season. Cambria Denim’s (B.F.A. Acting 2017) play Arabesque No. 1 was produced by the Two Roads Teatre on October 26 - 28. B.F.A. Acting alums, Bridget Farias , Brittany Flurry , Devon Finn , Chelsea Rhea Anderson , along with current senior, Rosa Armendariz , are involved with a production of Te Fault at Teatre Synesthesia. Bridget is Artistic Director of the Emily Ann Teatre in Wimberley. HBO has picked up Te Righteous Gemstones , starring John Goodman , Danny McBride and Edi Patterson (B.F.A. Acting 1997). [6] Alum Phillip Guevara just closed his production of Native Gardens at Intiman Teatre in Seattle. Scott Harris (M.A. Playwriting 2011) is in his sixth year of teaching/directing theatre at Rye Neck High School in Mamaroneck, NY. He recently appeared in a regional production of Ragtime as Henry Ford and is now directing the national high school premiere of Clue . Canvas , a play by Andrew Heinrich , (M.F.A. Dramatic Writing 2018) has been selected for the Pick of the Vine festival at the Little Fish Teatre in San Pedro, California. Danny Lutman (B.F.A. Teatre 2002) recently produced Hot Properties: San Diego for HGTV. His series Te Dead Files Revealed has been picked up by the Travel Channel, with episodes running throughout the year. Marissa Menezes (M.F.A. Design 2018) is the new Costume Coordinator for Te Public Teatre in NYC. Emily Reas (B.F.A. Acting), currently in Los Angeles, is working as a Producer. She is in pre-production for the short flm Te Green Motel and developing a single- camera series with Broken Anchor Films. She also produced the short flm Flow , which features Texas State alums Ryan Love , Danezion Mills , Riley Songer , and James Herrara . She performed in a staged reading of Ruth Fowler’s new work Chickenheads and had a role in Make ‘Em Laugh , which has had its frst screening and is entering the festival circuit. Chelcie Ross’s (B.F.A. Teatre 1964) latest flm, Te Ballad of Buster Scruggs , a Coen Brothers production, played at the New York Film Festival in early October and will be released on Netfix November 16. Caleb Straus (M.A. Directing 2010, M.F.A. Directing 2016) opened a production of Dial M for Murder at the Fredericksburg Teatre Company in mid-October. His short flm Black and White has been released on Amazon Prime and VOD. His flm adaptation of C. Dennis Moore’s Maggie Andrews will also be released on Amazon Prime and VOD at the end of the month. Moore is working on a novella adaptation of Caleb’s flm trilogy, It’s Over . Te frst book is available in bookstores. Ryan Tornton (B.F.A.
