THEATRE Acting, Musical Theatre, Per formance and Production, Teacher Certif ication in Theatre, Technical Production, & Theatre FACULTY ACCOLADES Cheri Prough DeVol designed the scenery and alumni Andrew McDaniels (MFA) designed the lighting for, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time , a play based on the novel by Mark Haddon and adapted by Simon Stephens. Directed by Bill Roudebush and featuring Canadian neurodiverse actor Maurice Kimball IV, the show played Sep 23-Oct 16 at Beck Center for the Performing Arts in Lakewood, Ohio. Linda Nenno Breining presented a Bones For Life workshop and paper exploring its effect on Voicework for Actors to an International Conference of Feldenkrais Practitioners in September. Trad Burns recently designed Little Shop of Horrors for Idaho Shakespeare Festival & Great Lakes Theatre and Giselle for Kansas City Ballet {assisted by Elijah Kleinberg MFA ’24}. His upcoming designs include the world premier of Carmen {assisted by Brydon Lidle MFA ‘23} for Tulsa Ballet and The Nutcracker {assisted by Andrew McDaniels MFA ‘21} at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. [1] Yesenia Garcia Herrington , M.F.A. directed Fade by Tanya Saracho for Austin Community College and was cast in an episode of Walker . Bryan Poyser's short film Don’t You Go Nowhere continues to play the film festival circuit. It won the Short Drama Award at the inaugural Legacy Theatre Film Festival in Stony Creek, CT and has been selected for prestigious fall festivals like Film Fest Tucson (Tucson, AZ), the Santa Fe International Film Festival, the Montclair Film Festival (Montclair, NJ) and 4 festivals in Texas - the Dallas International Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, Lone Star Film Festival (Ft Worth) and Sound Unseen Film Festival (Austin and Minneapolis, MN). Tobie Minor was nominated for Outstanding Featured Performer in a Comedy, Outstanding Movement Design, Trad Burns and his designs for Giselle at the Kansas City Ballet Sidney Rushing was recognized as the first inaugural August Wilson Playwriting Fellow Jackie Antu was the assistant stage manager for a 24 hour play festival at The Classic Theatre in San Antonio 18 | October | College News 1 2 3
