Brian Johnson has a print in State Proof: Regional Faculty Showcase in the Weil Gallery at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. The exhibition is part of the Oso Bay Biennial XXII Printmaking Festival, October 5-8, 2022. He has two individual screen prints and several he collaborated on with another artist in the exhibit Cultivating Community through Art: Sam Coronado's Serie Project and Its Continuing Legacy . The exhibit opens Thursday September 15th in The Art Galleries (TAG) at Austin Community College and runs through December. Genaro Solis Rivero had three commissioned-based projects he worked on in the past year that have been published and recognized with the following Graphis Design Awards 2023: Brangea Identity SILVER; Legacy79 Brew. Howdy! SILVER; TXDocs Identity Honorable Mention Gina Tarver presented the paper “El desplazamiento como operación conceptual en el Amazonia Report de Jonier Marín, 1976” at the X Simposio de Historia del arte: Migraciones y desplazamiento, revisiones y nuevas miradas al arte en Colombia, hosted by the art history department of the Universidad de los Andes. Erina Duganne's co-curated exhibition Art for the Future: Artists Call and Central American Solidarities , traveled to the University of New Mexico Art Museum this month where it will be on view through December 3. In conjunction with the opening, Erina gave a public talk and, with artist Sabra Moore, led a tour of the exhibition. The English/Spanish exhibition catalogue, which she co- edited, is available through Inventory Press. Elvia Perrin is a featured artist with Grand Image, Art Consulting in Seattle Washington. She is selling her work in their Home Collection, 2022. [3] Liz Rodda has videos and newly commissioned photographic works included in FotoFest Biennial's 2022 central exhibition, If I Had a Hammer . The exhibition is on view at the Silver Street Studios and Winter Street Studios (Houston, TX) from September 24–November 6. Liz will also participate in the panel Ghostly Shutter: Pictorial Personhood and (Im)permanence on October 9th at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Mark Menjivar and Jason Reed opened a new exhibition, Borderland Collective , at Texas A&M International University in Laredo. Jason Reed's monograph "Field Work" (with typography by M. Wright) was released by Victory in the Wilderness Museum. The book weaves together photographs, artifacts, ephemera, and archival material to reflect on intersecting ideals, histories, and human dilemmas across the lands of the American West. Jeffrey Lieber, a member of the State Board of Review, participated in the Texas Historical Commission's quarterly meeting, which was held in San Antonio on May 20 – 21. Barry Stone will present a solo show, Lost Pines , at Lora Reynolds Gallery in Austin. The show runs through November 14th. Stone is also celebrating the launch of new photobook, Lost Pines , with a book signing at Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery in NYC on October 14 and at Lora Reynolds Gallery on October 21st. [2] Soomin Remmler was in the group exhibition Lime in de Coconut at Conduit Gallery in Dallas. She is also in the group exhibition Drawn in San Antonio Today at McNay Art Museum. Soomin is chosen as an inaugural artist for the newly launched program called the Studio at McNay Art Museum. As a lead artist, Soomin curated the museum’s collection for an exhibition, exhibiting her drawings, poems, and dioramas. The residency runs until the last day of 2022. She taught 2 workshops at McNay as a part of the program for the staff members and has three more workshops scheduled for the public. The studio and Soomin are featured on KAST, San Antonio Culture Map, Visit San Antonio, and Art Daily. Dana Robinson's Just Us Chickens curated by Rebecca Marino was included in "The Line-up: 13 exhibitions to kickstart your September," Sightlines Magazine . ALUMNI ACCOLADES Shelby Sult (Painting and Art History 2021) finished a large-scale painting commission earlier this year and was recently featured in the Interiors section of British Vogue . She also wrote a catalog essay for Women & Their Work documenting Steef Crombach’s solo exhibition, and an interview with Shelby was published in VoyageAustin . Kayla Swinford (Art History 2021) has accepted a position as an english teacher for AEON Schools in Japan. She will be teaching in Takaoka, Japan. College of Fine Arts and Communication | 3
