Alex Aponte (B.F.A., Musical Theatre) played Sonny in the production of In The Heights at Musical Theatre of Wichita. [4] Casey Boriskie (B.F.A., Performance and Production) was a Stage Management Intern at the Alley Theatre this summer. Casey served as head Stage Manager for the 2019 Conservatory in the Alley’s Neuhaus Theatre. Hannah Detrick (B.F.A., Performance and Production) served as volunteer coordinator and Performing Arts specialist at Project Transformation North Texas, a program that helps children read and expand their knowledge of literature. Anna Gassett (B.F.A., Musical Theatre) was awarded Best Dancer at The Jimmy Awards in New York City. Maura Gill and Preston Perez (B.F.A., Musical Theatre) starred as Sheila in A Chorus Line at Musical Theatre of Wichita. Maura Gill and Ashlyn Maddox (B.F.A., Musical Theatre) were in the Theatre Under the Stars production of Jerome Robbins Broadway . Quinlan Hanrahan (B.F.A., Performance and Production) served as a Theatre Team Advisor for the National Student Leadership Conference this summer in New York City. Remi Kate Kimball (B.F.A., Performance and Production) made her Off-Off-Broadway debut this past June in a musical theatre showcase titled Mosaics at the Actor's Temple Theatre in New York City. Michaela Lamas (B.F.A., Musical Theatre) starred in the lead role in Sister Act at Summer Stock Austin. Madison Miller (B.F.A., Performance and Production) worked in residence with Garland Summer Musicals this summer as Assistant Lighting Designer and Lighting Board Operator for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and helping construct and paint the set for Mamma Mia! . Madison also served as Assistant Technical Director for the Dallas Young Artist’s production of Les Miserables . Duncan Smith , Matthew Schlandt , Alexander Vogt , BK Frizzell , Sophie Misercola , Andrew Withers , Casey Glaude , Collin Schonhoff , Hanna Hurd , Josh Demings , Mackenzie Lawrence , Presley Peters , Raye Pettigrew , Robert Morris , Ryan Flores , Ryan Walters , Shane Satterfield and Summer Hawkins worked to create and produce four episodes of an anthology web series entitled Tales of Phantasmagoria . The series will premiere online in October. [ 5 ] Amber Mawande-Spytek (B.F.A., Performance and Production) and Cameron Keith played the leading roles Kathy Seldon and Don Lockwood in Singing in the Rain at Circle Arts Theatre in New Braunfels. Brandon Summers (B.F.A., Performance and Production) played the role of Danny in the musical Baby! at Coppell Theatre this summer. Steven Jamal Tugman (B.F.A., Performance and Production) will be appearing as Grandpop in Elliot, A Soldier’s Fugue , at the Classic Theatre of San Antonio in mid-October. Jake Young (B.F.A., Musical Theatre) performed in the summer season at The Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma Lyric and served as Dance Captain. ALUMNI ACCOLADES For Lightning Girl , a new one-act by Rita Anderson (M.A., Theatre History), was selected for Amplify , an international play event at London-based Kibo Productions. One of her monologues will be published in the anthology of 100 Monologues for New Plays 2020 – tentative publication fall 2020. Trever Berger (’18) made his international debut as Tony in West Side Story in Tokyo. Michael Burrell starred in the international tour of An American in Paris in China. College of Fine Arts and Communication | 23 Isaac Byrne (M.F.A., Directing ’19) Won Best Ensemble at the Hollywood Fringe for his performance in the play Butcher Holler Here We Come by Casey Wimpee. Victoria Byrom (B.F.A., Teacher Certification) started a summer internship with Broadway Teachers Workshop in June. In September, Victoria started an internship in promotions at the Pekoe group, a Broadway marketing and PR company, working on the launch of The Lightning Thief and Six . Zachary Campion (B.F.A., Performance and Production) was dialect coach for Doubt at the Studio Theatre and Cabaret at the Olney Theatre Center, both in the DC area. He is currently in rehearsal for Right to Be Forgotten at Arena Stage. Chris Cook (B.A., Theatre and Mass Communication) is in LA and working as an Assistant Director in the Directors Guild of America. He recently won his first DGA award. His credits in the last five years include Schooled , Fear of the Walking Dead , The First Purge , All Night , Nathan for You , Rhett and Link’s Buddy System , Comedy Bang! Bang! , An American Girl Story , Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street , and Daddy’s Home . Nick Eibler (’19) made his Broadway debut in The Prom . Jecamiah Ibanez (B.F.A., Performance and Production) has completed his M.F.A. in Directing at Yale University. Jorrel Javier (’18) finished the year long national tour the lead role in The Lightening Thief , and will be making his Broadway debut in the same role the spring.
