Ana Baer’s Thule was awarded Best Original Music by the Tulum World Environment Film Festival. Ana Baer’s Ixchel and Imágenes de una Realidad were semi finalist for Best film award at We Make Films International Film Festival, Wallington, UK. Ana produced Sans Souci Fest as part of Gastro Think Tank and presented the lecture demonstrations: A Brief History of Screendance and Towards a Collaboratory arts production methodology in Bogota, Colombia on September 22-26. Brandon Gonzalez attended the Critical Mass CI50 Conference (celebrating 50 year of Contact Improvisation) in July (Ohio). Torens Johnson served as deputy director of AileyCamp with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre during the summer of 2022. Hall . Michelle Nance presented new choreography “Deep” in Choreographers’ Showcase at Texas State in August. [1] Christa Oliver's dance pieces "Rooted in Love" and "Black and Proud" were featured in the Anthropology of Motherhood exhibit at the Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She also led a workshop on dance activism at Harvard University. [2 - 3] Kaysie Seitz Brown's article, “Dance & Cultivation: Spurring the Next Generation’s Enthusiasm for the Art of Dance”, was published in the Journal of Dance Education on August 18. Scott Vandenberg was the production manager for this season of Summer Stock Austin which produced in rep both In The Heights and a new musical by Quinton Johnson, Alice's Wonderland . This season was produced in conjunction with Texas Performing Arts and performed at the McCullogh Theatre on the University of Texas campus. The company consisted of over 70 college and high school performers, artisans and technicians led by professional directors, choreographers, and designers. Amanda McCorkle (pictured) and Kaysie Seitz Brown performed "Threshold" choreographed by LeAnne Smith at the 35th Annual BMCA Conference “Rejoining the Circle: Somatic Agency and Social Justice,” where they also presented their workshop entitled "Somatic Justice Through Somatic Agency with Young Children" June 24th and 25th in Granville, OH.
