Catherine Kenner (freshman, Technical Production) was the assistant sound designer for Tales of a Blerd Ballerina at The Vortex in Austin. Rita was included in Applause's Best Women’s Monologues for New Plays 2020 . Bobcat alumni Travis Benavides was hired as a set designer at Netflix Productions. Musical Theatre alumni Bella Coppola (’20) made her off Broadway debut in Kinky Boots . Musical Theatre alumni Logan Floyd (’19) is playing the lead role of Velma in the national tour of Chicago , they will hit Austin for performances November 1-6. Bobcat alumni Vanessa Gonzalez has been named one of Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch for 2022. She is touring with Chelsea Handler. Bobcat alumni Tommie Jackson was hired on as the new theatre director at San Marcos High School. Bobcat alumni Jackson Pounds was one of the top 30 playwrights for the Samuel French Off Off Broadway festival. His short play was directed by M.F.A. directing alumni Isaac Byrnes . Musical Theatre alumni Adriana Scalice (’22) is touring with Broadway Across America’s production of Mean Girls the Musical . M.F.A. Directing alumni Ryan Scarlata will be directing Hedwig and the Angry Inch at TheatreLab Dayton this winter. Spencer Stevenson is part of a star-studded cast (Emilia Clarke, Minnie Driver, Bradley Whitford) in the film Rosaline , a re-imagining of Romeo and Juliet . He plays Paris; it premieres October 14 on Hulu. Bobcat alumni Tyler Wallach released a swimwear collaboration collection called Sporti x Tyler Wallach. Bobcat alumni Richie Wilcox is an instructor at the University of Lethbridge. This summer he directed the world premiere of Dayboil at the Ship’s Theatre Company. Richie is receiving a Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal from the lieutenant governor for his "outstanding service to our Province in the field of the Arts." Bobcat alumni Chase Woolridge recently adapted and directed George Bernard Shaw’s Saint Joan at Lighthouse Theatre in Georgetown. Bobcat alumni Gianna Yanelli is playing Adrian in Rocky: The Musical in its regional premiere at The Walnut Street Theater in her hometown of Philadelphia. The Department of Theatre and Dance opened their production of How I Learned What I Learned [3] by playwright August Wilson in early September. The production stars faculty member Eugene Lee and the proceeds from the production go to creating a Black and Latino Playwrights Celebration Endowment. The show ran until September 23rd.
