Imágenes de una Realidad was screened at Festival Internacional de Cine de Gibara, Habana, Cuba. Additionally, she co-produced Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema at the Centro Cultural Clavijero in August and at the Museum of Boulder in September. Shay Hartung and LeAnne Smith presented "a heart unbound" at the 36th Annual International Body Mind Centering Association's Conference Be in July. The trio featured Amanda McCorkle , alumni and the work of artist and sculptor Catherine Lee. Megan Moss was hired to perform for Chadash Contemporary Dance Company in their original show titled Beautiful Things . The show premiered in Denver, Colorado and Megan was hired to dance the role of "Jennifer," the love interest of two of the main characters. Performance included multiple contemporary ballet pas de duex and nine other company numbers. [2] Megan Moss was a part of an original artwork called "Overruled" premiering at Burning Man 2023. "Overruled" is a piece with large letters spelling out the words "No Dancing." While the large message encouraged spectators to break the rules and dance, the deeper message encourages individuals to contemplate rules and their impact on society. Each letter contains stories of individuals who have been controlled, excessively punished, or abused and how they moved forward. Megan was asked by the company Looking Up Arts (a San Francisco nonprofit dedicated to creating bold public art) to have her personal story featured on one of the letters. Michelle Nance performed in a new screendance and co-taught a master class in site-specific screendance performance with Heike Salzer (UK), Amanda McCorkle, and Ana Baer in Granada, Spain in June 2023. [3] STUDENT ACCOLADES Mattea Helton performed as Patty Simcox in Grease at Circle Arts Theatre in New Braunfels. Not only was this her first main role in a production, it was also the first main stage musical that featured her own choreography throughout the show. College of Fine Arts and Communication | 13 Megan Moss holds two degrees; a B.S. in exercise science from BYU, and a B.F.A in dance performance and choreography from Texas State University. Megan’s dance training began in SLC, Utah and has taken her all over the world. A few highlights of her training include extensive ballet training with Mountain West Ballet Company performing in multiple core and soloist roles for 9 years in company productions including La Fille Mal Gardee and the “Nutcracker”. Other highlights include; performing professionally as “Eliza” in Hale Center Theater’s musical theater production of The King and I , performing professionally in multiple roles with Chadash Contemporary Dance Company productions, and studying modern at IALS studios in Rome, Italy. Megan has taught and choreographed for over 25 years developing dance programs in Utah, Oregon, California, and Texas. Teaching and choreography specialties include: floor work, partnering, PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique), yoga for dancers, musicality in improvisation, dual-tone movement, establishing intention and character development, Giordano jazz technique, audition preparation and choreography retainment, working with live musicians, moving with props, musical theater, and most often modern/contemporary choreography. #ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT
