12 | September | College News JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION Advertising, Digital Media Innovation, Electronic Media , Mass Communication, Journalism, & Public Relations FACULTY ACCOLADES Nandini Bhalla published her first-authored paper, GIFT: Using ePortfolios in Public Relations Writing Courses: A Growth Mindset Approach to Feedback and Revision, in the Kentucky Journal of Communication . • Nandini Bhalla co-presented at the AEJMC Stand- ing Committee of Teaching (SCT) session, “Teaching Experts are In,” on Developing an AI Toolbox: the Pros and Cons of Various Applications for Content Creation. • Nandini Bhalla moderated the AEJMC Public Re- lations Division’s offsite tour panel at the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, CA. [1] • Nandini Bhalla attended the AEJMC SCT leadership meeting as an elected member. She will now be coordi- nating the Teaching Tips column. • She moderated/ presided over the AEJMC PRD panel, "Why are Companies Firing Gen Z Employees? Work- force Strategies and Solutions for PR’s Next Generation. • She presented two GIFT papers at a PRD High Density session. • Bhalla was a discussant for the AEJMC South Asian Communication Association (SACA) research session, Artificial Intelligence in South Asia: issues and implica- tions. Dale Blasingame’s first book – Lonely Planet's Texas travel guide – hit bookstores in late August. Blasingame is one of four authors on the project and wrote the Austin and South Texas chapters along with several essays in the book. [2] Larry Carlson , a member of the Football Writers Associ- ation of America, worked Southeastern Conference (SEC) media days in July. Carlson, representing The History of Longhorn Sports site, interviewed dozens of college players, coaches and officials, filing several stories each of the four days at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. • Larry was a three-time guest on KLBJ Radio Sports in August, called on to discuss University of Texas and Texas State University football.
