Ana Baer’s film La Habana en Movimiento was screened at Cineclube dos criadores, Rio de Janeiro, BR. Richard D. Hall collaborated as composer and sound designer. (summer 2024). Ana Baer’s film UrbáTerra was selected by FIVRS, Porto Alegre e Pelotas, Brazil, and Mostra de Videodança & Forum Network, Lisbon, Portugal. Michelle Nance and Amanda McCorkle collaborated as dancers/ choreographers along with Heike Salzer while Richard D. Hall collaborated as composer and sound designer. (summer 2024). Ana Baer’s film Sympoiesis was selected by FIVRS, Porto Alegre e Pelotas, Brazil; SYRY FESTIVAL DE ARTES ESCÉNICAS, Asunción, Paraguay; Cineclube dos criadores, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; EmpowerHer Film Festival, Johannesburg, South Africa and it was awarded Quarter Finalist at Hungry Minds Film Festival, Bra, Italy. (summer 2024). Ana Baer’s film Dancing LA: Stay Behind the Yellow Line was screened at Tiny Mountains Film Festival, Queensland, Australia. (summer 2024). Ana Baer’s film Being Together was screened at The Wyoming Dance Film Festival, Cheyenne, WY. This 1 2 3 work is a collaboration with Merge Dance Company, Body Shift, and Richard D. Hall (summer 2024). This summer, Brandon Gonzalez taught at the international Salt Spring Island Contact Improvisation Festival in British Columbia, Canada, and presented performance research at the California Contact Improvisation Teachers Exchange (CALCITE) in Berkeley, California. [2] Amanda McCorkle and Kaysie Seitz Brown presented “Vibrating into Resonance” at NDEO’s Somatic Movement in Dance Education conference at the Gibney Studios in New York City in July. Megan Moss served as dance captain and performed as part of the ensemble for Zilker Theatre Production's 2024 summer musical, Legally Blonde . Megan Moss choreographed and performed a contemporary ballet solo titled Swan Lake for the company 'Looking Up Arts' at their event at Burning Man 2024. This event was their premiere of their interactive light structure titled Interlace and their software suite that facilitates live shows where pieces and performers work together in real time. [3] Michelle Nance and Richard Hall presented original choreography and music Twilight Tear at the Bill Evans Dance and Somatic conference in Port Townsend, WA in July. They also co-taught a workshop at the conference. In May 2024, Jonathan "JayWAN" Pattiwael received their Level 1 Black Belt certification in Pencak Silat Mande Muda Indonesia, adding to their credentials of traditional movement practices. In June 2024, Jonathan "JayWAN" Pattiwael was a featured dance performer at the Grand Rapids Asia Pacific Festival in Michigan, headlining Hula and Tahiti Ori programming. In July 2024, Jonathan "JayWAN" Pattiwael and the group Organi City was featured as guest teachers at the Fayetteville Movement Festival teaching a workshop. Texas State Dance majors Hailey Britton , Andrea Kienlen and Jasmine Seegmiller attended as featured artists, performers and teachers. [4] At Fayetteville Movement Festival, Organi City performed a void of mournings - a 20-minute intermedia dance-theatre performance exploring the human condition through relationships on the brink of change. It is a collective meditation on isolation, addiction, codependency, the yearning for love and their repercussions on the human condition. Jonathan "JayWAN" Pattiwael gave a professional presentation at the International University Global Theatre Experience in Austria. The presentation session centers the human body and corporeal movement as a mode of storytelling through traditional Sundanese dance (from West Java) remixed with Hip-Hop culture. In August 2024, Jonathan "JayWAN" Pattiwael performed at Crude Saturday with 4 other acclaimed artists in Brussels, Belgium at David Zambrano's TicTac Art Center. The 10-minute solo is an improvised dance exploring ritual action, spirituality and traditional rhythms. Jonathan "JayWAN" Pattiwael danced the repertory of Crystal Pite in Berlin.
