This journal has a 5-year impact factor of 2.9, with a 42.9% acceptance rate. Nandini Bhalla gave a presentation titled, Building Brand in a Journalistic Style: How Journalists can be Influencers? at SPJ Region 8 on April 5, 2025. [1] A group of students in Bhalla's MC3360 presented their class research on career services at the 19th annual Honors College Undergraduate Research Conference (URC) on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Nandini Bhalla is an advisor. Nandini Bhalla served as a guest judge for the 19th annual Honors College Undergraduate Research Conference on April 23, 2025. Michel M. Haigh presented a paper in the Broadcast Education Research Symposium “Communicating Science in a World Suffering from Infoxication.” Haigh’s paper was called “ Examining Consumers’ Perceptions of the Term “Nat- ural” on Food Labels .” Haigh serves as the Broadcast Edu- cation Research Committee chair. In that role, she chaired/ moderated two panels during the April convention. She also served as a presenter on the panel “ACEJMC Accreditation Solutions.” Haigh represents BEA on the Accrediting Coun- cil for the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications. Jessica James hosted the Texas State Student Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists the SPJ Region 8 Confer- ence in Old Main, April 4 to April 5. Media professionals from across Texas came together to share industry insights on the latest trends in journalism. The keynote session featured reporters from the Washington Post and NPR. The moderated conversation explored challenges related to immi- gration reporting in Texas.
