College of Fine Arts and Communication | 13 CIM TEYA, directed by Kaysie Seitz Brown , performed STREAM in Motion 10.0 at the Harrison on March 19, at Voigt Elementary School in Round Rock on March 7, and at Hernandez Elementary School in San Marcos on April 4. CIM TEYA was also invited to perform their new work, She Caught the Stars , choreographed by Kaysie Seitz Brown in collaboration with the dancers, at the 8th Annual Faculty & Guest Artist Dance Concert on March 7 and 8. [2], [3] Roxanne Gage choreographed, Dream On , which was per- formed at the Austin Community College Faculty and Guest Dance Concert, March 7 & 8, 2025. Brandon Gonzalez was a featured intensive teacher at Earthdance’s Spring Jam, a three-day international Contact Improvisation gathering in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts. Rooted in a spirit of community, Earthdance is an internationally recognized presenter of workshops, performances, and community events. While in Massachusetts, Brandon also led a Masterclass at Amherst College, part of the Five College Consortium. Michelle Nance was awarded the “Distinguished Dean’s Seminar” recognition in April. The purpose of the College of Fine Arts and Communi- cation Dean’s Seminar Award is to give Texas State faculty members an opportunity to present their research, creative work, or other scholarly efforts to their colleagues, and to be recognized for significant accomplishments. In April, Scott Vandenberg returned for his 4th year as the Production Manager for the 12th Annual Heller Awards for Young Artists at The Long Center in Austin, TX. The awards show celebrates the High School Musical Theatre offerings within the greater Austin region. This year’s show included over 400 student performers and technicians working side by side with industry professionals producing a Tony Awards style show including over 25 awards presentations and 14 spectacular musical theatre performances. Joining him on this show were several TXST Alumni: Company Manager Cole Rickman , Head Electrician Jessica Dunbar , & Produc- tion Assistant Casey Boriskie along with current TXST Stage Management students Emma Frith (BFA ’26) and Kamryn Coleman (BFA ’27) also serving as Production Assistants. STUDENT ACCOLADES Students Ayzha Saggers , Joshua Quidilla , Vee Blyden , Alexander Arcilla , Karina Soto , Itzel Martinez Gaytan , Jesikah Tucker , and Bri Waller , danced in cultural presen- tations with k u m u k e i t o, of Tropical Productions Ha- waiian Dance Company in the local Austin Central Texas area. They were a part of the Asian Pacific Heritage Month events on Texas State campus, AISD school district, and will perform in Kyle's Market Days, as well as the Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas in May. ALUMNI ACCOLADES Mark Gonzalez (BFA in Performance and Choreography, 2021) piece “From the Ashes” was selected for presentation at Dance City Festival Chicago.
