2 | April & May | College News ART AND DESIGN Art , Art Education, Art Histor y, Communication Design, Photography, & Studio Art FACULTY ACCOLADES Sterling Allen will have work in the exhibition, Wild- flowers , taking place outdoors in downtown Austin in conjunction with two other exhibitions happening simul- taneously at Northern-Southern and Good Luck Have Fun Gallery. All three exhibitions are organized by Kira McCool, Rachel Eboh and Phillip Niemeyer and open May 3, 2025. Sterling Allen will participate in the Rauschenberg Resi- dency during May and June of 2025. The Rauschenberg Residency is a creative center that welcomes artists of all disciplines from around the world to live, work, and create. The residency is located on Robert Rauschenberg’s former property on Captiva Island, Florida, where he lived and worked for nearly four decades. Courtney Cone has two sculptures, Floater and Slop(top), included in The Center for Art and Advocacy’s inaugural exhibition Collective Gestures: Building Com- munity through Practice. The exhibition opened March 27, and will be on-view through September 20, 2025 in Brooklyn, NY. [1] Joey Fauerso's solo show Bedroom Paintings will open at Ruby City Museum on June 7th. Joey Fauerso will be in Residence at the Arcus Residency Foundation in Moriya Japan for the month of June. Sydney Guzman premiered her first solo show, Under the Moon’s Eye . Her exhibition is on view at the Ivester Con- temporary from April 19th through May 24th. An open- ing reception was held on April 19th at 7pm. [2] Jessica Mallios has been selected for an Arctic Circle residency in May.
