Faculty Accolades Adrienne Butler’s print was selected for The Contemporary Print exhibition, juried by Mary Heathcott showing at Flatbed Press. Shawn Camp’s solo show Aphotic Zone at Northern-Southern Gallery was ranked number 1 in The Austin Chronicle’s “Top 10 List for Arts- Related Program Activities in 2015.” Brian Johnson and Elvia Perrin are showing work in Collective Identity : PrintAustin Board Exhibition and IMPRINT ONE : National Invitational Print Exhibition. Mark Menjivar was one of four artists commissioned by the Public Art Department of San Antonio to make new works for their Creative Place Making Series . The exhibition opened at Culture Commons, the new city gallery across from City Hall, in early December. Mark also has works in French and Michigan’s Second Biannual Exhibition curated by Celeste Wackenhut and Faith Haddad. Both exhibitions are open through the end of January. Elvia Perrin is showing new work in Clean Cut at Invenio Gallery. Elvia has also curated her first exhibition Layers at Link And Pin. Liz Rodda’s solo exhibition Two Kinds of Luck opens at Second Street Gallery (Charlottesville, VA) on February 5th. She is also participating in a two-person show, Turn Your Face Toward The Sun , at Blue Star Contemporary (San Antonio), which closes on February 7th. An ongoing public art/design project by Maia Wright and Kate Jarboe, which activates LGBTQ archives in cities internationally, has been accepted to the upcoming Open Engagement 2016 conference in May. Wright and Jarboe have been invited to create a new public art/design intervention in collaboration with the Oakland Museum of California, and give a public presentation of their work.
