January & February 2016 College News

2014, Wright and Jarboe have deployed the project in New York City, Brooklyn, Mexico City, and via social media. Their most recent installation took place in Dallas in January 2016, in response to the recent spate of gay bashings in the Oak Lawn neighborhood. The project was featured on the Dallas Channel WFAA 8 Evening News on January 2, bringing renewed media attention to the hate crimes, which have gone unprosecuted for several months. Maia was commissioned by Princeton University Press to design a series of book design templates, which will establish a cohesive house style and brand for the Press. The project follows in the legacy of PJ Conkwright, the original typographer of Princeton University Press, and one of the renowned American book designers of the 20th century. Two of Maia’s collaborative self-initiated book projects have been selected for international distribution through Printed Matter in New York City, and Draw Down Books in New Haven.
