4 | January & February | College News Caprice Pierucci has a solo exhibition, Rhythmic Forms that will be at Gremillion & Co. from February 9 - March 11. Three prints from Burt Pritzker’s Forgotten Planes series were included in the new publication, Museum of the Southwest, Selections From the Permanent Collection . The museum is in Midland, and it owns all 87 prints from this series. Five images from Burt’s Paper Construction series as well as one image from Burt’s Transmissions series were purchased by private collectors. Liz Rodda’s solo exhibition, Heat Loss , opened at Women & Their Work on Saturday, January 21. The exhibition runs from January 21 - March 2. She also recently participated in the Endless Biennial in NYC. Claudia Roeschmann was nominated as university representative for the Texas Distance Learning Association (TxDLA) Award for Outstanding Commitment to Excellence and Innovation in Distance Learning by an Individual. STUDENT ACCOLADES MFA student and communication design GA Thi Ngyuen’s typeface design “Simply Canon” won a typeface design merit in the PRINT magazine Typography & Lettering Awards Winners 2016. BFA in communication design major Pedro Moreno is one of 66 students (73 in the online edition) to be featured in GDUSA magazine’s feature, “Students to Watch in 2017.” Printmaking students Graham Pooley , Elizabeth Ullman , James Borcherding and Chandler Sosebee were exhibited at Invenio Gallery at Canopy , between January 20 - February 15. Her work resides at the intersection between painting, drawing, and performance. Over the last ten years she has been working on a series of paintings, drawings and video that rely on gesture and improvisation to explore themes of nature, gender, family, and humor. PRETEND THIS IS A TRAP Januar y 30 – Februar y 16 Joey’s work was also featured in the exhibit Pretend This is a Trap [pictured] which focuses on her attention to material, process, symbolism and figuration. Fauerso’s new body of work is comprised of paintings and monoprints on multiple, standard-sized papers arranged into clusters around a central textual theme.
