4 What We Scream Under Water When No One Can Hear Us , a play by M.F.A. student Caitlin Turnage 5 Stephen Brower on the national tour of Anastasia 6 Teatre and Dance's production of Cabaret, one of the American-Statesman’s top 10 list for Best Teatrical Productions in 2018 Epps , as well as Martinique de León y Peña (B.F.A. Studio Art: Expanded Media) and Joel Arce (B.F.A., Digital Media Innovation). B.F.A. Production & Performance majors Sarah Tijerina and Melinda Luna served as Production Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager on Riveted Rosie , produced by the FronteraFest Long Fringe in Austin. B.F.A. Production & Performance alumni Chelsea Lynn Urban and Frank Montero starred in the production, and B.F.A. Production & Performance alumnus Ashley Davis served as Sound Efects Artist. Caitlin Turnage’s thesis play What We Scream Under Water When No One Can Hear Us is a semi-fnalist for the O’Neill National Teatre Conference. [4] In addition, her play Hand Gestures is a regional fnalist for the John S. Cauble Outstanding Short Play award. Caitlin is an M.F.A. student in Dramatic Writing. Jake Young (B.F.A., Musical Teatre) was an invited speaker for the TEDx event on the Texas State campus, delivering a talk titled “I’m Masculine Because I’m An Artist. Why Are You?” ALUMNI ACCOLADES Stephen Brower (B.F.A., Musical Teatre 2015) is playing the male lead, Dimitri, on the national tour of Anastasia . [ 5 ] Annette Mia Flores (B.F.A., Performance and Production) appeared on NBC’s show, New Amsterdam , on February 12. Jorrel Javier (B.F.A., Musical Teatre 2018) is currently on the national tour of Te Lightning Tief . Kade Lasseigne (B.F.A., Teatre Education) works as a teacher at Akins High School and is Technical Teatre Director for the Akins Journey Teatre in Austin. He is currently working on his Masters of Arts in Teatre Education at the University of Houston, where he’s studying performance and technical theatre in a program designed specifcally for teachers. Ryne Nardecchia (B.F.A., Musical Teatre 2017) is currently on the national tour of Fiddler on the Roof . 16 | January & February | College News
