Faculty Accolades Sterling Allen is currently participating in the exhibition, The Future We Remember , curated by Sarah Higgins and Cora Fisher at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA) in Winston Salem, NC. The group exhibition also features the work of artists such as Vija Celmins, Dario Robleto and Michael Jones McKean, among others, and is focused on the conf lation of time and the way in which this is represented by objects. Allen was commissioned to create a large-scale photo work as part of his contribution to the exhibition, which continues through June 5, 2016. Jeff Dell will have work in Constellation Studios’ Rainbow : A Print Invitational , which opens Friday, February 19 at 7 p.m., as well as a solo show at The Print Center of Philadelphia opening on May 1. He will also be a visiting artist at Northern Iowa University at the end of February, doing a lecture, workshop and visits. Brian Johnson will have three drawings from his recent solo show on display at the 12th Annual People’s Gallery Exhibition at Austin City Hall. The work in the juried exhibit will remain on display for one year; the opening reception was Friday, February 26 from 6 - 9 p.m. Mark Menjivar’s installation, Songbirds Mingled with Pickpockets , a combination of furniture, oral histories, photographs, posters and archival documents exploring the history of Military Plaza, was acquired for the permanent art collection of the City of San Antonio. Mark also participated in a panel discussion titled, “Art and Citizenship in Contemporary Social Practice” at the annual CAA conference in Washington DC. Elvia Perrin will be collaborating with Pottery Barn Retailer for the second time. They will be selling a reproduction print of her Rubber Ring etching this summer in their online store catalog.
