Faculty Accolades Tricia Burke and her co-author published “Weight- Related Social Influence Motives and Constraints in Romantic Relationships” in the June issue of Communication Research . Ann Burnette was honored with the 2015 Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching, the award given annually to a faculty member who has demonstrated outstanding performance in teaching. In August, she was a guest on the radio show Houston Matters (FM 88.7) to speak on the topic of “Incivility in Politics . ” Stephanie Dailey and co-authors published an article in the Journal of Communication entitled, “Bringing Technological Frames to Work: How Previous Experience with Social Media Shapes the Technology’s Meaning in an Organization.” Stephanie presented two research papers to the Academy of Management Conference focused on the role of social media and employee identification. She also presented multiple papers to the International Communication Association Annual Conference about workplace health and social media. Rebekah Fox and co-authors published “Voices From the Field: Wildland Fire Managers and High Reliability Organizing Mindfulness” in the journal Society and Natural Resources. Rebekah also served as a Program Planner for the 13th International Association of Wildland Fire Safety Summit in Boise, Idaho, where she also had the pleasure of introducing the keynote speaker. Rebekah served as organizer and host to the Criss Cole Center College Prep Class of 2015 as they toured the Texas State campus over the summer. Sean Horan and co-author published a journal article entitled “Priest as Teacher III: Parishioners’ Responsiveness and Priests’ Vocational Qualities” in Communication Quarterly .
