M.A. Students Successfully Complete MAPPS Prospective graduates of the M.A. program in Communication Studies construct and defend a portfolio reflecting students’ objectives and accomplishments throughout their program of study. The Master of Arts Program Portfolio (MAPP) allows students to articulate the ways in which their M.A. program experiences “map” onto the degree’s goals of proposing and defending choices regarding appropriate research methods, inte- grating communication theory within communication inquiry, and applying communication in individuals’ personal, profes- sional, and public lives. The MAPP allows students to synthesize the knowledge gained during the M.A. program. The experience culminates in a final MAPP defense with the students’ advisory committee to discuss the MAPP products, reflect upon their M.A. work, and identify future plans. The department congratulates the following M.A. students on their successful completion of their MAPPS defense: [8] Diego Mendoza Flores Jordan Garner Cynthia Inglett Ashton Kiesling Collin Miller Mia Longoria Dana Swann Caroline Williams 8 M.A. student Bailey Thrasher presented her rhetorical analysis to the International Crisis and Risk Communication Association Annual Conference alongside Rebekah Fox The Department of Communication Studies congratulate their 8 M.A. students on their successful completion of their MAPPS defense 7
